Biography

Dr. Divya Susan Philips is a native of Ernakulam, Kerala. She joined as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry, Union Christian College, Aluva on 13 August, 2018. She obtained her graduation in Chemistry from Sacred Heart College, Thevara (affiliated to Mahatama Gandhi University, Kottayam) during 2004-2007 followed by Masters in Chemistry from the same college during 2007-2009. She cleared the CSIR/UGC-NET exam in December 2009 after which she joined for the doctoral studies under the guidance of Prof. A. Ajayaghosh at the Photosciences and Photonics Section, Chemical Sciences and Technology Division, CSIR-National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (CSIR-NIIST), Thiruvananthapuram. After obtaining her doctoral degree in May 2017, she moved to the University of Muenster, Germany as a post-doctoral fellow under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Gustavo Fernandez from June 2017-August 2018. She has over 10 international publications and has attended sevaral national and international conferences. Her research interests include design and synthesis of organic fluorophores for sensing and imaging applications, self-assembly and photophysical studies of organic pi- conjugated molecules.
